Keeping Our 校园 Safe

St. 爱德华的 大学 is dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment for all members of the university community who study, 研究, live and work at any of our 校园es. 的 Office of 校园 Safety brings together law enforcement and emergency preparedness to proactively inform and protect our 校园 community. 的 大学 警察 and 校园 弹性 departments ensure emergency planning programs, crime prevention efforts, parking enforcement and police investigations are working collaboratively to create an environment in which all members of our university community experience a sense of safety and security. Working together yields a more focused and successful crime-fighting team. Reviewing the information outlined on this website will increase your awareness, and awareness is the precursor to action.

Join SafeWalk SEU!

SafeWalk SEU is a student-led, student-run service to safely escort students, 教师 and 工作人员 to and from areas around 校园 (limited to the borders of 校园) during evening and night hours during the fall and spring semesters.  SafeWalk SEU supplements the escorting service provided by UPD.  At this time, we are running Monday - Thursday, 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm.  To request a ride or walk within the borders of 校园 call 512-326-SAFE (7233).  To learn more about this program or to volunteer contact Frank Saucedo at fsauced1@daves-studio.com

Top Three Things to Know About Safety

Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

的 Hilltop is a safe place to live, learn and work. 的 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is a great resource for our community to learn more about the programs and policies the university has implemented to keep it that way.  的 Office of 校园 Safety prepares this report in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of 校园 Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act. Updated versions are published each October 1st and hard copies are also available on request at the 大学 警察 Department.

To report a crime or tip:

Call the 大学 警察 Department at (512) 448-8444,
完成一个 SEU Crime Incident Report Form, or
提交一个 Anonymous Tip.

校园 Carry

St. 爱德华的 大学 chose to opt-out of  Texas Senate Bill 11, commonly referred to as 校园 Carry, continuing its long-standing policy of prohibiting weapons on 校园 in accordance with the Student Handbook (Page 35) and Employee Handbook (Page 33) . 大学 leadership believes concealed handguns on 校园 present significant concerns and are not conducive to a positive learning environment. Opinions expressed during 校园-wide information sessions in December 2015 support the university’s position on this matter.  Only active law enforcement personnel are excluded from this policy. If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding weapons on 校园, please call the 大学 警察 Department at 512-448-8444.
